Perfumer’s notes:
Those of you lucky enough to join our Psychoterratica project some years back will be very familiar with this fragrance, then poetically titled Psychoterratica III.

So, step aboard our time machine and travel back with us a few years to relive this fuggy beast of a fragrance in all its peaty glory.

MONOLITH is directly inspired by peat, a material used in the production of certain malt whiskies. It does not hold back, presenting a resolutely fumy profile. Embrace it, and you will be rewarded with a super nuanced and articulate development and fade.

MONOLITH is the fragrance that we receive the most requests to bring back. It is unlikely to ever become part of our permanent collection due to its divisive and challenging nature. Not to mention, it’s exceptionally expensive to manufacture with a very long maceration time!

So, for now, this is your chance to experience MONOLITH again.

Made in Scotland.

Beneath a campfire

To me, this fragrance tells a story: on first spray, I'm smelling a campfire at night from beneath, I'm shallowly buried in healthy soil; as the scent slowly evolves over many hours, the soil slowly erodes around me while the fire gradually dies out until all I'm left with is peat and black tea at the break of dawn.
The fire aspect reminds me of Firewater, but Monolith is completely unique in it's storytelling; I absolutely love wearing it to bed.

What wonderful words, thank you! Such an inspired choice, wearing Monolith to bed!

A beast of peat

If you like the smoky aspect of peat, this is for you. It's blended so well that the overwhelming peat will still leave room to everything going around here, frankincense, coffee, castoreum, to name a few. Quite a masterpice.

Thank you, Stephane! We're thrilled you are enjoying Monolith's unique and complex character x

Dark autumn evenings on Islay

The opening salvo here is enormous, I'm not entirely sure how to describe what hits me first. A roar of resinous, spicy-peppery-cardamom campfire smoke, doused coals, the cork from a bottle of salty, peaty single malt - wet with spirit and evaporating - wafted close under the nose. Over time it keeps that bone-dry smoke and adds some far-off greenery too, very gentle sweetness, a touch of burnt pipe tobacco. Comforting, like returning to your cabin after a hike to dry out next to the fire with a dram as the night draws in.

The dry down turns this Beast much more sociable, too, IMHO. I look forward to exploring it further as the months grow colder!

We love your thoughts on Monolith! A sociable beast indeed!

Summer nostalgia

Ordered this one on a whim after only trying Askr a couple times from a sample. I'm so glad I didn't miss this one! I'm from British Columbia, Canada, and spent every summer of my childhood camping, and this fragrance is the smell of a walk through a campsite as the sun sets. Campfire smoke meets fresh, green trees, and the faintest sweetness of toasted marshmallows. Monolith is described as a beast, and it is. The opening is a very strong smoke, but given some time, becomes a beautiful summer night. I can almost hear the waves lapping at the shore of the lake and the cicadas humming. I will cherish this bottle, and I can't wait to see what Jorum Studio does next. Much love from BC :)

Thank you for your kind words, Tyler! We are so thrilled to hear you habe connected with Monolith.

A beast awakens

This is a BEAST of a fragrance, in the biggest of compliments. It's dark, it's burning, it's boozy, it's unforgettable.

Thank you, Josh! We love to hear you are enjoying Monolith!
