Limited seasonal release - 721 bottles

Sliced, squished, whole or chopped. The simple tomato brings such disproportionate joy.

Pluck! is a perfumed panzanella; tomato’s of all shapes and size, pine nut sprinkles, tear of basil, splash of balsamic, drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of Sichuan pepper. The vine that nurtures shouldn’t be overlooked, crushed between fingers. Yum!

Impression

Tomato Leaf, Pine nut, Sichuan Pepper, Basil, Blackcurrant Bud, Lavender Absolute, Geranium Absolute

Fade

Tomato Tar, Vetiver, Sandalwood oil, Fir Balsam Absolute

Perfumer’s notes:

I am one of those that find the aroma of tomato vines captivating, one of natures most perfect aromatic creations.

If you pluck enough tomato’s from the vine you’ll be given the gift of ‘tomato tar’ - the accumulation of acylsugars on the skin, leaving a stubborn greenish residue behind to be scrubbed or inhaled for hours.

Pluck! was created a decade ago, the direct result of trying to capture a vivid culinary memory.

Without question, one of the most standout dishes I have experienced was a rustic tomato salad in Campania. I didn’t know it at the time but Campania is the best region to grow tomatoes in Italy and that dish proved it to me. I still try to recreate this dish on a weekly basis.

It would be easy for me to get Proustian about tomato’s so I’ll stop and allow the fruits of my labour do the talking. I hope you enjoy Pluck!

Blind Buy

I live in Toronto and have had the opportunity to sample a lot of Jorum Studio’s scents and I love almost everything the put out. so, when they came out with a scent that’s one of my favourite naturally occurring smells I had to get my paws on it! They shipped it promptly and I had to pay minimal duties which was a relief. The scent itself if fresh and slightly sweeter than I had anticipated but still perfect for an everyday scent and great for layering. Not to mention, it LASTS which is also ways a point of contention with perfumes for me.

Controversial but...

Tragically this smells like Irish Spring soap on me. Maybe it skews a little too herbal? IDK. Still nice, but all of the tomato leaf dries down into a minty soap. Hopefully others have a more tomatoey experience!

Lovely

I love the delicate start of subtle minty greenery. Becoming a bit more raspy then, with the basil of wonderful connector, it's not a million miles away from Malle's Geranium pour Monsieur. While that one quickly fades, Euan found a way to give Pluck! longevity. I admit I don't get a lot of rough tomato tar from here on, and the geranium softens. I rather naturally delve in a comforting, silver-green fir/algae realm, with a hint of Acqua di Sale. That is surprising, yes, and indeed a million miles away from the underlying idea. Still, that's my perception. So, while I expected a bit more pungency (why did I?) I like Pluck! a lot, it's very well rounded, has enough twist and is easy to wear.

It‘s fantastic

I impulsively bought this fragrance after reading a Reddit post that highly recommended it. And guess what? He was absolutely right! The scent is incredibly pleasant and reminds me of the fresh, vibrant aroma of ripe green tomato plants. It’s a fantastic way to capture that essence. This fragrance is perfect for everyday use and is ideal for the summer season.

Green but spicy

The notes on this one are accurate! It certainly smells like a spicier tomato vine. More complex than the tomato leaf products which seem to be everywhere right now. It is a perfect one for summer, especially as it tips into autumn and the earthier notes take centre stage. But for July, I've enjoyed layering it with an even greener scent such as Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca to bring out the fresher side of the garden tomato.
