Welcome to JORUM JOURNAL ISSUE 8

JORUM JOURNAL is a monthly glimpse behind the scenes at Jorum Studio. Find out what’s inspiring us, what’s motivating us, what we’re celebrating – the thoughts and stories behind our luxury fragrances.

AUGUST at Jorum Studio saw us head full-pelt into Edinburgh International Festival season. Like many Edinburgh locals, the Jorum team were incredibly excited to to once again welcome visitors from across the world to the city after a long two years without any events or celebrations.

We've thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone who has visited our Stockbridge store to explore our collection of Scottish perfumes during the summer months.

Now, on to a new season, and new projects...

A GLIMPSE OF THE FESTIVAL WITH ADAM FOY

In case you missed the frivolities this year – or simply want to relive the chaos – we commissioned photographer and artist Adam Foy to brave the crowds (and heat!) of the Royal Mile and capture a glimpse of the Edinburgh International Festival through his lens...

READING LIST

Jorum Studio reading list featuring 'Wild: The Naturalistic Garden', 'Egon Schiele: The Paintings' and 'Slim Aarons: Women'

Wild, The Naturalistic Garden by Noel Kingsbury
With stunning photography by Claire Takacs, a joyful read for anyone who loves to let plants grow wild. We're big advocates for the value of garden weeds here at Jorum!

Women by Slim Aarons
More photographic joy – this time from Aarons who is a longtime inspiration of our co-founder, Chloe. (His work also partially inspired Pentimento from our Selective Memory collection!)

Egon Schiele: The Paintings ed. Tobias G. Natter (Taschen)
A beautiful book containing a glimpse of Schiele's famed and lesser-seen painting work (a lucky Edinburgh charity shop find!)
