This. This is the scent of playing on the cliffs behind the estate near where I grew up, in summer. And the only perfume I’ve ever found that has pineapple weed as a note. Exceot the one I made with the weeds and some water, aged seven!

Sunshine takes your face and kisses your cheek with lionlike confidence. Warm in the sun, cold in the wind. Dry resin, like a dusty bale of lavender and sweet grasses, slicking your fingers and also your heart, but without even a lick of tackiness, and with a window open in the other room. Call me Marilyn but give me more than 2 drops, please, and I'd sleep in this for weeks. No French lessons required. No time limits.
