Jorum x Craft Scotland: Precious Metals in Marylebone

Jorum x Craft Scotland: Precious Metals in Marylebone

This February Jorum Studio and Craft Scotland present an exciting new collaboration blending the craft of perfumery with the alchemy of jewellery and silversmithing.

Jorum x Craft Scotland: Precious Metals in Marylebone brings three Scotland-based jewellers to Jorum’s flagship London showroom in the heart of Marylebone Village.

Exquisite wearables and objects by Sheng Zhang, Ebba Goring and Monica Findlay will be displayed within this inviting multi-sensory destination, celebrating parallels between the cultures of modern perfumery and contemporary craft.

Drawing on their successful partnership delivering the Jorum Craft Award, Jorum Studio and Craft Scotland are delighted to share the work of some of Scotland’s most exciting contemporary jewellers with our London audience.

Ebba Goring

Ebba Goring is a fine jewellery designer based in Dunfermline, Fife. Her jewellery blends intricate craftsmanship, innovative design, and timeless elegance.

Combining textile techniques with silversmithing, Ebba transforms meticulously hand-stitched or crocheted cotton into solid precious metal, imbuing each piece with an ethereal quality as fragile threads become enduring treasures.

Monica Findlay

Monica Findlay is a silversmith and jeweller from Glasgow. The material presence of the past influences her creative practice both conceptually and through her commitment to the preservation of ancient craft techniques.

Blending Scottish archaeology with personal narratives, Monica creates contemporary artefacts that feel distant yet somewhat familiar, evoking feelings of nostalgia from the viewer.

Sheng Zhang

Based in Glasgow, contemporary jewellery and silversmithing designer Sheng Zhang draws inspiration from minimalist art, contemporary architecture and geometrical form.

Each piece of his work is a result of a carefully structured making process using a blend of traditional metal skills and digital technologies. Sheng’s vessels and containers explore the connection of internal and external, positive and negative space.
